Soldiers Point Marina takes home two Major Awards at Marina Trade Show on the Gold Coast...

  • Australian Marina Employee of the Year
  • Most Innovative Marketing by a Marina

Of all the thousands of marina staff in Australia, Soldiers Point Marina Supervisor Jim Duncan of Soldiers Point has been officially recognised at the marine15 conference on the Gold Coast tonight for his outstanding contribution to the marina industry by being announced People’s Choice Australian Marina Employee 2015-2016.

Jim has been employed at Soldiers Point Marina since 2000 and manages the day to day operation of the Marina. As a consequence, Jim is a hive of information, knowing every customer by name and every nook and cranny of the marina and its environs.  Jim’s duties are many but include ensuring boats are safe and secure, berths are rented, records to each berth are up-to-date and accurate and that all relevant Marina Rules and Regulations are observed.

The marina also collected the Most Innovative Marketing Award 2015-2016 for its absolute commitment to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Congratulations also to Paul and Julie Simpson from The Point Restaurant who were named as finalists in Australian Marina Restaurant of the Year 2015-2016.

“This has been a very rewarding night for Soldiers Point Marina and in particular Jim Duncan. He is an outstanding employee and a very worthy winner of this inaugural award. Jim always has the welfare of our customers and their boats as his first priority” said Soldiers Point General Manager Darrell Barnett CMM.

Testimonial

Upon arriving at Soldiers Point marina, where storage of my beloved boat was to take place, I was greeted with an unexpected degree of friendliness and professionalism. The marina’s manager (Darrell Barnett) promptly showed me where my boat was to be stored in a secure fenced area with a key for unlimited access. Facilities such as hoses, power etc was also shown to us as well as a tour of the marina’s extensive facilities.
This beautiful facility is located on the western side of Soldiers Point out of the prevailing winds (which at the time were quite strong some days) meaning calm conditions in which to berth, have a quite drink etc.
I would truly recommend Soldiers Point and if you have a boat regardless of what size consider the Soldiers Point Marina. You won’t be disappointed, I wasn’t.
